About

I am Brazilian although I do not dance well, drink coffee or play (the actual) football.

I am the first generation in my family that went to university thankfully to a high-school scholarship received from the Colégio Engenheiro Juarez Wanderley. At University of Campinas, I received a scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) during my bachelor and Master’s degree program. At University of São Paulo, I received scholarships from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) during my Ph.D. degree program.

Therefore, I truly believe that education transforms lives and that every child deserves high-quality free education and opportunities (because hard-work is not always enough) to reach their true potential. In this endeavor, I try to support really cool initiatives such as Institute Embraer which funds high-school scholarships like the one I had; Skype a Scientist that creates interactions between scientists and public school students; and International Science and Engineering Fair where young scientists expose their work.

I am queer (he/him), Latino and English second language speaker. Not by chance, I am also a workaholic in recovery.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking in the beautiful national parks, doing partner Cross-fit workouts, reading sci-fi stories, playing games, and watching dance performances.
